Buddha Purnima of vesak is a
Buddhist festival that marks the birth of Gautam Buddha his enlightenment and
death. It falls on the day of the full moon in April or may and it is a gazette
holiday in India.
Born as the prince of kapilvastu
siddhart Gautama was only son of shudhodan Samrath before his birth the fifty Brahmins
has prophesied that he would become either a universal monarch or a great sage.
To prevent him from becoming a sage his father kept him within the castle
surrounded with all kind of luxuries
Buddha
Purnima commemorates the birth, enlightenment and death of Gautam Buddha. So
Buddhist consider this day to be more auspicious than any other day of the
year. It was the day that Buddha’s birth
enlightenment and entrance in nirvana all happened to take place at the same
date.
